We will, if time allows, stop at the Hassan second Mosque, one of the world’s biggest mosques, before we depart Casablanca for Rabat. After that, we’ll go to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to see some of its most important historical landmarks, such as the Oudaya Kasbah, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and the Hassan Tower, the incomplete mosque’s tower. Spend the night in Rabat, complete with breakfast and a bed.

Day 2: Rabat, Ouezzane, Chefchaouen

The journey to Chefchaouen will begin with breakfast at your riad, and it will take place across the Rif Mountains, an expansive plateau cut across by several valleys and ravines. Once you reach Chefchaouen, you will be amazed by the stunning beauty of the city, which is situated spectacularly above the mountains. Let your cameras roll! It is Morocco’s blue jewel. Staying the night in Chefchaouen, complete with breakfast included.

Day 3: Exploring Chefchaouen

Today is a day off for you. Take your time exploring the little city of Chefchaouen in Northern Morocco’s Rif Mountains. The area is famous for its blue buildings and pleasant temperature. Founded in 1471 by Jews and Moors, Chefchaouen is an interesting and distinctive city. Similar to the bigger coastal city of Tetouan, the village has an Andalusian flair. In keeping with the heritage of buildings prevalent across Andalusia in southern Spain, these dwellings are usually white washed and have similar architectural forms. Because of this, it is an ideal Medina for pedestrians, with its picturesque houses packed closely together along twisting, narrow streets.

Day 4: Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, Fes

We will leave from your riad after breakfast and go to Volubilis, where you will see enormous Roman remains from the second century. Meknes, formerly the capital and one of Morocco’s imperial towns in the seventeenth century, is our next destination. The Granary, the Square of Lehdim, the Moulay Ismail tomb, and the famed Bab Mansour gate are all on display. Our last stop will be our next stop after that. Spend the night in Fes, complete with breakfast and a bed.

Day 5: Exploring Fes with local guide

Following breakfast at your riad, you will be escorted by a knowledgeable local guide into Morocco’s most ancient Medina, which has been around since the eighth century. You’ll ride on donkeys as you meander through the Medina’s winding, narrow cobblestone lanes. Along your Medina tour, you will see many of the city’s historic sites, such as the world’s oldest university, the tomb of Moulay Idriss, the Nejjarine fountains, the world-renown tanneries, the King’s Palace, the Jewish neighborhood, and a ceramics cooperative where you can observe traditional Moroccan crafts. The trip concludes in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Fes, Ifrane, Merzouga

Ifrane, often known as Little Switzerland, will be our first stop on the way to the Sahara Desert in the morning. Then, if you’re lucky, you could see monkeys as we make our way through the Cedar Forest. Your lunch is waiting for you in Midelt, our next stop. Keep traveling over the Middle Atlas Mountains as you see the nomadic people. As we continue our journey, we will halt at many picturesque viewpoints in the palm-tree-lined Ziz Valley. Then we’ll make our way to the last stop, the Sahara Desert. Stay in Merzouga for the night, complete with breakfast and supper.

Then we will begin our drive to the Dades Valley, passing via the Todghra Valley and the Gorges. En route, we will make a photo stop at some of the kasbahs that were constructed by Jews. After you have breakfast at your hotel, we will travel to Marrakech via the Dades Valley, which is famous for its old kasbahs and spectacular rock formations, and the Rose Valley, where you can see the harvest of damask roses in April. Our next stop will be Ouarzazate, sometimes called “African Hollywood,” home to the Taourirt kasbah and other film studios.
We’ll keep on to the Ait ben Haddou Ksar, the biggest ksar in Morocco and a UNESCO Heritage site. It was the setting for several films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, The Gladiator, and The Jewel of the Nile. The next day, we will continue our journey to Marrakech by crossing the Tichka Pass, which is one of Morocco’s highest passes. With a midday arrival in Marrakech in sight.
